Description      To remain abreast of developments in the I.T. & Communications field, locally and abroad. To recommend to the IT Director on integration of advancements where useful, practical and cost effective  To install, upgrade, and configure network printing, directory structures, rights, security, and software on file servers  To maintain an accurate, updated and consistent paper work flow of files and documentation within the IT Department  To create and maintain an accurate, updated and user-friendly software library  To maintain and monitor the IT hardware store, producing a monthly inventory report to be reviewed with the department Director, with recommendation for reuse, sale and discard of equipment  To produce all regular department reports, in a timely and accurate manner, including, but not restricted to, the weekly activity report, monthly MD report, weekly communications report by department and any other required report as and when required  To monitor and follow up with other team members on the timely and accurate completion of all IT tasks as outlined in the regularly updated and monitored task list, coordinated with the Director  To respond to the needs and questions of users concerning their access of resources on the network, computer systems or PCs. To identify problems and coordinate with system administrators to resolve problems if necessary.  To maintain the department help desk function, replying to user calls, determining call priorities and directing assistance as necessary
Qualifications    To assist in coordinating major troubleshooting and repairs with outside vendors and to follow up on ensuring the timely repair of faulty systems or items of equipment  To assist in the set up and upgrade new user PCs, installing Windows and other applications, as well as perform minor user tutorials as and when required  To assist in the support, monitor, testing, and troubleshooting of hardware and software problems pertaining to the network.
