Description May provide work directions to the Sales Assistant. Receives enquiries/product introductions from suppliers, carries out product feasibility studies and makes decisions on whether to add to the range or not. Negotiates the best terms for the allocated product groups in order to maximize margin. To include listing fees, over-riders and promotional monies. Produces merchandising plans (Plano grams) for the allocated products (includes checking market prices and expected margins). Responsible for the achievements of a financial plan for the allocated product groups (setup margin targets for each group). Carries out regular assortment review on the allocated product groups to assess product movements and rotate / remove slow moving products. Ensures that operational / logistic issues relating to suppliers of the allocated product groups are dealt with effectively and professionally to ensure smooth delivery. Responsible for the effective communication to stores of all suppliers and product information on the allocated product groups. Analyses weekly product sales results, takes decisions to reduce increase exposure on space allocation based on the performance of individual products. Evaluates new software in terms of its possible use within the Retail Marketing (C-Store) networks. Controls the entry of data into and the generation of reports from the PDI system. Responsible for product promotions after negotiating with the suppliers for the best offer and margin. Negotiates contracts with the suppliers for space allocation or displays. Analyses and rationalizes the allocated range of products to maximize sales and margins.
Qualifications BA in Commerce.

Other Skills 4/5 years experience in a retail market sales environment with particular awareness of the local market. Fluency in English. Analytical skills. Negotiating skills. Computing skills.
