Description 1)Plans and prepares production schedules for manufacture of industrial or commercial products: Draws up master schedule to establish sequence and lead time of each operation to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts or customer orders. 2)Analyzes production specifications and plant capacity data and performs mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, tools, and human resource requirements. 3)Plans and schedules workflow for each department and operation according to previously established manufacturing sequences and lead times. 4)Plans sequence of fabrication, assembly, installation, and other manufacturing operations for guidance of production workers. 5)Confers with department supervisors to determine status of assigned projects. 6)Expedites operations that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions. 7)Prepares production reports. 8)Raise Purchase orders from MRP system ensuring timely placement and delivery of components in line with production planning requirements. 9)Expedite and reschedule open purchase orders to suit production planning requirements. 10)Review historical data including sales trends, research demand drivers, material on time delivery, commodity spends within dedicated production cell. Coordinate research data to identify significant variances. 11)Share, communicate and report on variances to both internal and external supply chain. 12)Interact with production planner and sales to understand demand forecast drivers 13)Use and maintain MRP data as the primary planning system tool 14)Provide input in developing departmental strategies for inventory on existing items, new product introduction and phase outs. 15)Reporting gathered information within production meeting environment.
