Expatriate Production Integrity Expert – Qarun JV
Job Description/Profile
General
The selected expatriate candidate will work in the Qarun Joint Venture (JV) partnership in Egypt and will represent Apache’s interests for field operations, onshore Western Desert. He will have 15+ years of experience in oilfield production operations/Integrity, including leadership experience and hold an engineering technology degree. The position will be a 28/28 rotation to Egypt.
The Production Integrity Expert must succeed within the operating environment of a JV company working in parallel with Egyptian team members. QPC is an active area, currently producing 40,000 BOPD from over 500 wells which include pattern waterflooding with daily injection levels of 200,000 BIWPD. Production is using artificial lift (ESP and rod pump) with no gas production or handling at this time.The candidate will be expected to work as part of a chemicals team to ensure delivery of effective corrosion management & integrity programs for oil production and water flood facilities.
Responsibilities
U Monitor pipeline pigging and cathodic protection programs
U Implement and monitor internal corrosion control chemical treatment programs
U Support all activities on corrosion mitigation and control matters
U Support laboratory and field testing activities
U Work with designated asset teams to develop and deliver management strategies to minimize production chemistry risks
U Providing production chemistry assurance to all assets and projects.
U Network with internal and external production chemistry/flow assurance experts in order to deliver best in class solutions to designated asset production chemistry problems.
U Monitor and support chemical field trials to optimize system performance and qualify new products
Experience and Knowledge
U Extensive knowledge and operational experience in all aspects of production chemistry including scale, corrosion, wax and hydrate inhibition, separation, produced water treatment, reservoir souring and water injection quality management
U Experience of working with Chemical Service Companies and familiarity with contractor performance management processes
U Detailed understanding of typical oil/gas/water processing systems
U Basic knowledge in using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Environment, Health & Safety, including:
U Safety leadership
U Implementing local company safe work practices
U Monitoring and minimizing environmental impact
Qualifications
Experience working in multicultural environments is desirable. Good people and leadership skills, including communication and influencing, are a must. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who can anticipate problems and adjust to meet the demands of an active and growing operation. He must be able to communicate effectively and respectfully at all levels in order to work in a cooperative and constructive spirit with a variety of disciplines, personalities, and cultures.
