Policy Officer Culture & Development
Starting from 1 May 2016
The Political, Press & Cultural Department of the Embassy of the Kingdom of The Netherlands is recruiting a Policy Officer Culture & Development. Responsibilities include the managing, shaping and implementing of the cultural programs of the Embassy. Emphasis is on the C&O program that aims to stimulate independent and innovative culture in Egypt and strengthen the links between Dutch and Egyptian cultural actors.
Applicants should comply with the following requirements:
- Masters Degree, preferably in development studies, political science or arts & culture.
- Knowledge of Egyptian and preferably Dutch cultural scene.
- Experience with project management.
- Excellent command of English and Arabic.
- Considerable relevant work experience.
Competences :
The requested candidate combines the qualities of a policy officer with those of a project manager. He/she is creative, capable at building and maintaining a functional network, shows initiative, knows how to plan and organize, adequately handles the project portfolio, is tuned in to the internal dynamics of the Embassy, is a team player and exhibits an obvious integrity. The candidate should be able and willing to regularly work after office hours.
The appointment of the selected candidate is subject to the result of a background and medical check. The Embassy offers medical insurance, generous leave days and a 13th month salary. A monthly salary indication for the vacancy is EGP 19.334,-- (before taxes).
The selected candidate will be offered an initial local contract for 1 year which may be extended.
